Your questions answered

You may have some questions regarding volunteering. This may help…..

Why should I volunteer? Volunteering offers numerous benefits, including the opportunity to give back to your club, make a positive impact, develop new skills, build meaningful connections, and experience personal fulfilment.

How do I find volunteer opportunities? You can find volunteer opportunities by talking to your club captain or one of the committee. Some of our current positions can be found in our last two posts.

Do I need specific skills or experience to volunteer? Most of our volunteer roles require only enthusiasm, dedication, and a willingness to learn. However, some positions may require specific skills or qualifications, but we can support you with training and development.

Do I need to be a specific age to volunteer? If you are committed to helping the club, we will find the appropriate role for you. Anyone can help the club no matter their age.

How much time do I need to commit to volunteering? The time commitment varies depending on the specific volunteer role. Most shouldn’t take up too much time and we can vary the role depending on your other commitments. Most roles probably don’t require more than a couple of hours a week.

Can I volunteer remotely? Absolutely, we have many roles that don’t need to be carried out at set times and can be completed at home, especially our support and administration roles.

Will I receive training and support as a volunteer? We provide training and support to help volunteers succeed in their roles. This includes mentoring, official training (where required) and ongoing support. No experience is required to help the club.
