The season started with a great turnout from the youth section at Club Day on 8th September. Over 40 players attended from U8s, U10s, U12s, U14s taking part in skills training and mini matches. The highlights being a 3D obstacle course, deflection game and using a speed gun to see who had the hardest hit!

Training sessions have been taking place throughout the week on Tuesdays for the U14s, Thursdays for the U12s and U6s, 8 and 10s on Sunday mornings. We have introduced a junior turn up and play session on Sunday mornings for U12s and 14s to provide additional opportunities to practice for matches and tournaments.

We are seeing new faces joining the club each week which is fantastic to see our youth section grow in the first half of the season. On top of our training sessions our youth section have played a number of matches. The Under 14 girls and boys have joined forces with Sudbury to form a “West Suffolk” team to play in Tier 2 league games, as a club we are looking forward to seeing both club develop and evolve.

The Under 12 Girls are having real success in the Tier 1, finishing top of the table ready to fight to keep the top spot in the second half of the season. The Under 12 boys have had mixed bag of results in the Tier 1, however all developing together ready to have a competitive second half of the season.

The Under 10s and Under 8s are putting their training into practice with a series of matches. With another couple tournaments in the pipe line, Overall the whole age group has had a great first experience of playing club Hockey.
Finally, we are delighted to report that several of our players have been selected to play for Suffolk.
